You know, the thing about exercise making people happy might be true, at least for me. Yeah, yeah, don't force the whole endorphine rush crap down my throat, I know about it, it just doesn't seem to apply often to me. Either way, yesterday when I was lugging the mattresses around I had this strange happy high and today after walking more than five blocks from my place to the Serramonte Shopping Centre and back (uphill!), I felt better than usual--besides the heavy breathing after a while.

Either way, the point I'm trying to make is that I'm feeling better. Not as homesick at any rate.

...Or maybe that's just because my mother finally has a web cam and can talk to me online. So yes, I get to see her face and my dog and cat (yesterday and today respectively) as well. Too bad I have no bolster to hug in their place. Or a plushie. Damn... (Apparently, Cristo was pooping when Danny came and saw him, and he got shy so Danny just grabbed him to hand over to my mum to show me on the web cam. Poor bugger. XD)

It also helps that I got to talk to my uncle yesterday online and he alerted me about the free mattress on craigslist. I know, so weird and random and weird of me to answer a craigslist free mattress add. But I got it, and it's firm and we'll see if it'll kill my back in a few days time.

What's amusing is the fact that I have to constantly talk my mother through using the online chat services. For e.g.: You see the "start video" button? Take your mouse and click on it.

She'll go: double click or one click? (Amazing that she actually knows the difference now!)

Me: Just one click.

Then just now I had to talk her through using Google talk to chat with my uncle.

Me: You see the Google talk icon? It's the one with the big "TALK" icon?
Mum: Yes.
Me: Double click it.
Mum: Ok.
Me: You see uncle's contact? ...Aiyoh, you only have two contacts, me and then uncle so it's just the other one lah.
Mum: Yeah.
Me: Is he online? Do you see a green dot next to his name?

...etc, etc.

So amusing lah.

On another note, I'll be rooming in Michelle's house over the weekend and going shopping in a hypermarket with them so I might not be updating. But, My mother did hear about the present...uh...hygene state of my host's house and was...um...horrified? Maybe not that strong a word. But she says I need to vacuum my carpet ASAP. Her theory and experience: You use the shoes on the carpet from outside, vacuum everyday or alternate days else you'll get dust and mites and suddenly you'll be sick for no reason.

Hmm... is that why I have a constant blocked nose all the time?

Ah well. At least I know how to use her washer and dryer, so I can change my own sheets if necessary. And I'll get rags or something to use in the bathroom and to wipe miscellaneous surfaces that I noticed have a fine layer of dust on them.

Okay. Creepy. Looked under the bed for something that fell and found a really, really, really old bottle of....juice? Milk? Jesus. I don't know. Throwing away.

The nurse's office beckons to me.

Maybe I'll start room hunting earlier than I planned.
