Mickey's a fighter through and through.
The blood test report came back from the vets and the result was not good. His kidneys weren't doing their jobs and his condition was getting worse. In fact, the doctor said he should be dead by then. We decided to put him down on Saturday.
That fateful morning, he was as active as a gerbil. So my mother consulted another vet who advised her to leave him be until he's so poor of health, he can't walk. So we did. It was an on-off situation over the next week.
Last Tuesday, we figured we'd have to put him down. He was getting really bad. Then, he perked up. Again. So off goes the doc's appointment. Problem is, he hasn't been eating. So we've resorted to force feeding him food through a syringe. Not the cleanest or easiest job in the world.
Leave it to this old dude to put up a fight where most other cats submit to the inevitable. I don't know whether to be proud (which i am, to a certain extent) or worried (I don't know when some complication might arise).
Thanks to all who've been concerned. I appreciate it.
